Training
In addition to product safety training for hydraulic torque wrench usage, we can arrange training and competence assurance services in accordance with standards published by the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) and endorsed by the Energy Institute, Oil & Gas UK and HSE in their guidelines for the management of integrity of bolted joints for pressure systems.
From 1st October 2011, the previous TECSkills PF10, 18 and 19 units are being phased out and replaced with approved training courses derived from the new ECITB Mechanical Joint Integrity technical training standards. Logbooks are being replaced by work based task assignments and new ECITB Technical Tests are being introduced.
The new technical training standards cover isolations, dismantling techniques, inspection of components, alignment techniques and clamp connectors as well as assembly and tightening techniques in specialist critical bolting.
The courses are run in a friendly and informal atmosphere over (up to) two and a half days covering the theory and the scientific aspects of joint integrity together with practical sessions working on a training rig using a variety of tools. The training courses are run as a mobile service so we come to you. This has the benefit of having your people trained in familiar surroundings and has the additional advantage of saving the expense of transporting large groups of people to remote locations with consequent subsistence expenses etc.
Grant funding is available to companies that are levy payers to the ECITB.
Our training courses are suitable for skill levels ranging from novice to expert. Contact us for further details.
